Freeview HD in the UK
We are now getting close to having Freeview HD in our homes. In the hype and the build up to offer HD channels on Freeview, it would appear thay many UK households are not being told all the facts.. and the prices.
Many UK households are not aware they will have to pay out around £170 for a HD Freeview Box. Even those who have previously purchased a HD Ready TV with built in Freeview will have to buy a seperate HD Freeview Box.
Freeview HD will be in 50% of UK homes in 2010
To begin with the following channels with be transmitting in Freeview HD
- Channel 4, ITV and the BBC HD channels. IN addition S4C will be transmitting in HD in Wales. A lot of the big cities who will receive Freeview HD before March 2010 are: London, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Birmingham and Bradford. By the end of 2012 it is expected that 98% of the UK will have Freeview HD. There is one small problem tho.
